General FAQs: What Sets Our Clinic Apart

What makes Prime Vitality Care different from other clinics?

Prime Vitality Care is led by Dr. Shiv Kumar Goel, a triple board-certified physician. Unlike many med spas and wellness clinics, every treatment plan is designed and overseen by a physician — not a nurse practitioner or aesthetician. We combine functional medicine, aesthetics, hormone optimization, and regenerative therapies under one roof for a truly integrated approach.

Do I need a referral to become a patient?

No referral is needed. You can book directly through our website or call us at (210) 876-1635. We accept both new and existing patients for in-person and telehealth appointments.

Where are you located?

Our clinic is located at 10007 Huebner Rd, Suite 302, San Antonio, TX 78240. We also offer nationwide telehealth services for eligible treatments such as hormone therapy, peptide therapy, and medical weight loss.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please complete your patient intake forms online before your visit (available in our Patient Hub). Bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card (if applicable), a list of current medications and supplements, and any recent lab results from other providers.

How do I access my patient portal and forms?

Visit our Patient Hub at the top of our website to access intake forms, consent documents, order tracking, and wellness tools like the BMI Calculator, Metabolic Checker, and IV Drip Finder.

Aesthetics & Medical Spa

What aesthetic treatments do you offer?

We offer a full range of physician-led aesthetics including Botox, Dysport, dermal fillers, Morpheus8 RF microneedling, FaceTite, BodyTite, NeckTite, CoolSculpting, EMSculpt NEO, HydraFacial MD, chemical peels, PRP/PRF for skin and hair, exosome therapy, BeautiFill fat transfer, and BeautiFirm laser skin tightening.

Who performs the treatments?

Dr. Goel personally oversees and performs treatments. Unlike many med spas, you are seen by a board-certified physician — not delegated to a technician for complex procedures.

Is there downtime after aesthetic procedures?

It depends on the treatment. Non-invasive options like Botox, HydraFacial, and chemical peels have minimal to no downtime. Treatments like Morpheus8, FaceTite, and body contouring may require 3–7 days of mild swelling or redness. Dr. Goel will discuss expected recovery during your consultation.

Do you offer a free consultation?

We offer complimentary consultations for aesthetics members. For non-members, a consultation fee applies and is typically credited toward your treatment if you proceed.

Hormone Optimization

What is hormone optimization therapy?

Hormone optimization goes beyond simple replacement. We use comprehensive lab panels to identify imbalances in testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, thyroid, cortisol, and DHEA — then create a precision protocol tailored to your body, not population averages. Options include TRT for men, BHRT for women, thyroid optimization, and adrenal support.

Can hormone therapy be done via telehealth?

Yes. Hormone optimization is one of our most popular telehealth services. We order labs through a nationwide partner network, review results on a virtual consultation, and ship medications directly to your door. Follow-up appointments are also virtual.

How long before I see results?

Most patients notice improvements in energy, sleep, and mood within 2–4 weeks. Full optimization — including body composition changes, libido, and cognitive clarity — typically develops over 8–12 weeks as we fine-tune your protocol based on follow-up labs.

Is hormone therapy safe?

When prescribed and monitored by a qualified physician, hormone optimization therapy has a strong safety profile. Dr. Goel monitors your labs regularly and adjusts dosing to maintain optimal — not just "normal" — levels while minimizing side effects.

Medical Weight Loss

What is GLP-1 therapy?

GLP-1 receptor agonists like semaglutide and tirzepatide are FDA-approved medications that reduce appetite, improve insulin sensitivity, and support significant weight loss. They work by mimicking a natural gut hormone that signals satiety to the brain. Dr. Goel combines GLP-1 therapy with metabolic testing and nutritional guidance for sustainable results.

How much weight can I expect to lose?

Results vary by individual, but clinical studies show patients on GLP-1 therapy can lose 15–25% of their body weight over 12–18 months when combined with lifestyle modifications. Our physician-supervised protocols optimize this through metabolic testing and hormone alignment.

Can I do the weight loss program virtually?

Yes. Our medical weight loss program is available via telehealth nationwide. We order labs remotely, conduct virtual consultations, and ship medications directly to you. In-person body composition scans are available at our San Antonio clinic.

Peptide Therapy

What are peptides?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signaling molecules in the body. Different peptides target different functions — BPC-157 supports gut healing and tissue repair, Sermorelin stimulates growth hormone release, PT-141 addresses sexual health, and Thymosin Alpha-1 boosts immune function. All peptides at Prime Vitality Care are pharmaceutical-grade and physician-prescribed.

Are peptides FDA-approved?

Some peptides (like Sermorelin) are FDA-approved, while others (like BPC-157) are used off-label or are classified as investigational. Dr. Goel will explain the regulatory status, evidence base, and risk profile of any peptide recommended for your protocol. All prescriptions are issued by a licensed physician and sourced from accredited pharmacies.

Can peptide therapy be done remotely?

Yes. Peptide therapy is available nationwide via telehealth. After an initial virtual consultation and lab review, medications are shipped directly to you with clear administration instructions and ongoing physician oversight.

Telehealth & Virtual Care

Which services are available via telehealth?

Hormone optimization, peptide therapy, medical weight loss (GLP-1), functional medicine consultations, thyroid management, and follow-up appointments for most services. Aesthetic treatments and IV therapy require in-person visits at our San Antonio clinic.

Which states do you serve?

We currently offer telehealth services in Texas, California, and Florida, with plans to expand to additional states. Contact us to confirm availability in your state.

How do virtual appointments work?

Book online, complete your intake forms, and join a secure video consultation with Dr. Goel at your scheduled time. Labs can be ordered through a nationwide partner network near you. Prescriptions are sent to a pharmacy or shipped directly to your door.

Billing, Insurance & Financing

Do you accept insurance?

Prime Vitality Care operates as a cash-pay and concierge practice for most services. Some lab work and specific medical services may be eligible for insurance reimbursement. We can provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

What financing options do you offer?

We partner with PatientFi (0% interest for up to 9 months, soft credit check with no impact on your credit score), Wurthy (flexible payment plans), and CareCredit. Ask our team about splitting treatment costs into affordable monthly payments.

What are your membership plans?

We offer three tiers: Aesthetics ($69/month) for member pricing and priority scheduling, IV Hydration ($149/month) including a monthly IV drip and quarterly bloodwork, and Concierge Medicine ($199/month) with direct physician access, comprehensive labs, and same-day appointments. Visit our Memberships page for full details.
